About WEXCO CORPORATION:
Established in 1975 for the sole purpose of manufacturing high-performance bimetallic plasticating cylinders for plastic injection and extrusion machinery, WEXCO has grown into a highly respected and capable supplier to the plastic industry, both in the U.S.A. and internationally. WEXCO's Production Facilities and Capabilities
A well-equipped, modern 48,000 square foot (4460 m2) factory located in Lynchburg, Virginia, U.S.A., serves as company headquarters and self-contained design and production facility that allows WEXCO to maintain full control over all vital manufacturing functions.
There they deep-hole drill cylinder sections up to 160 inches (4 meters) long and up to 15 inches (381 mm) bore diameter, and they straighten their cylinder tubes to a much tighter tolerance than required by industry standards.
WEXCO spin-cast cylinder bore lining alloys in their own custom-designed furnace, and carefully finish the cylinder bore by employing a super-precise honing process. Wexco's state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment allows them to produce high-performance plasticating cylinders up 293 inches long (that over 24 feet, or 7,44 m).
Unlike some of their competitors, they do not have to leave critical manufacturing processes (such as deep-hole boring and straightening) to outsiders.
